Alright space fam, what was the highlight of the event? Plenty of new stuff (plus things we already knew), but I'm still going to go with "massive static fire of the Raptor v2 in the desert" 🚀

To be about the prototypes that didn't make it very far.. they weren't supposed to get very far and they were fully expected to crash. They anticipate this kind of stuff and collect a ton of data (IE. how much more thrust would they need, is it enough fuel, was the take-off as expected etc)

The goal of this system is to carry people to Mars but at it's current state still requires rigorous tests to be safe enough to use. This could take years, Elon needs to be patient and set realistic time lines

In 1986 I was on a program in Paris sandwiched in between presentations by Sen. Harrison Schmitt and Captain Eugene Cernan, the last two men to walk on the moon. Gene was already complaining that there were no plans to return and militated for moon missions until his death in 2017. SpaceX can do what governments cannot, i.e., take risk.

I doubt it's possible to go to Mars with our present technology. It's his R & D network that could possibly develop completely new and unheard of systems that will make it so.

It's EASY for "do nothings" to call someone trying the amazing "crazy". And with every failure in the amazing, the "do nothing" gloats in their squalor.

Why isn’t it possible to harness solar power once out of Earth’s orbit?

The fifty launces a day were in relation to the Falcon 9, not the Starship and Superheavy.

It's fun it's interesting but is it necessary? Premise is that the sun will envelop the Earth which isn't about 5 billion years

I think the Biden administration will never let it launch because of the animosity between Biden and Musk.

I believe musk will do exactly what he said

What's needed is a fuel that lasts much longer .

Let's face it. SpaceX has already done so many "impossible" things that one has to be a believer.
