I think one majored thing you’re failing to mention is how hard the Ayra planar headphones are to drive because how inefficient they are, which makes them almost not mobile at all but on the other hand the Sony Z1 is very efficient to the point where you could hook them up to an iPhone with a dongle and they would still sound pretty good.

I picked up a pair of these renewed on Amz for $1400 and I absolutely love them. Since I'm not married which eliminates the danger of going thru a divorce I don't see my self ever selling these.

Goodluck with hifiman headphones. They sound amazing but the build quality is something need to consider. You just sold one of the best headphones which has very good build quality on the market.

I don’t know if you’re into speakers/studio monitors, but you need to try the iloud MTM. Terribly branded, yet very well made and fantastic sounding as well. I’m almost allergic to treble and these are incredibly clear and spacious sounding without having an overturned high end.

I saw the demo unit at one of my local Sony stores, and the PU leather on the headband was flaking like crazy. Considering the price of these headphones, that level of quality is completely unacceptable.

Interesting in the comparison video between the z1r and nightowl I think you said if you had to chose you preferred the z1r but after having them for a long time it sounds like you ended up preferring the nightowl? What genres of music do you mostly listen to?
