Pour ce deuxième volume consacré aux sonates de Beethoven, Nikolaï Lugansky remonte le temps et choisit ici trois jalons dans l’évolution stylistique du compositeur : la Clair de lune, La Tempête et l’Appassionata. Héritier des codes du classicisme viennois, le Maître de Bonn rompt peu à peu avec ces modèles pour donner libre cours à l’affect, à l’émotion et au geste romantique. Avec ces trois œuvres, Beethoven posait les bases d’un art libre et humaniste.
For this second volume of Beethoven sonatas, Nikolaï Lugansky goes back in time and selects three milestones in the composer's stylistic evolution: the ‘Moonlight’, the ‘Tempest’ and the ‘Appassionata’. The Master of Bonn gradually broke with the models he had inherited from the codes of Viennese Classicism in order to give free rein to affect, emotion and Romantic gesture. With these three works, Beethoven laid the foundations of a free and humanistic art.
