Hey man, just wanna say that you inspired me to dust off my old text books and relearn some math. I graduated with my master's in math a whole back and for the past few years I've been teaching at my local community college. What I'm teaching is nothing difficult, just remedial math. I struggled mightily through grad school; I just barely scraped by to get my degree. However, because of your vids, I want to get back into learning math. I've forgotten a bunch already but I think it'll be fun going back and relearning, especially since now it'll be at my own pace with no time or financial pressures. Thanks for being an inspiration and I hope you make it through to your PhD.

I really enjoy listening to you. I am writing from Turkey, I am studying for university entrance exams. When I get bored of studying, I get excited when I listen to you and see your work. It's nice to think about what you said, you enlighten me. Also, I love your occasional jokes. Anyway, I've made it a little longer, I wish you success in your work, my dear friend.

When I'm asked to proof something in one of my courses, I'll write the result and say "just trust me bro".

Let S = 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 +... = 1 +2(1+2+4+8+...)=1+2S so we have S=1+2S and solving for S we have S=-1. It's one of my favorite ways to abuse infinite series.

I watched every minute of this video and I didn't understand a single thing after "well, I'm officially sick"

I’m taking real and complex analysis right now. I did a problem in my complex variables class on this. The problem was to establish the identity and use it to derive Lagrange’s trigonometric identity. We’re using the Brown & Churchill complex variables book.
