I'm all for Suicide Squad failing and sending a message to WB that people don't want a live-service repetitive slop-fest of a game. The failure of Avengers and Gotham Knights should be also not be forgotten.

Always a good sign. It means they didn't leave on good terms, they where laid off and want to form their own studio, just like ex-Blizzard developers did.

I personally don’t blame him. I would do the same, go back to the passion filled formula of old instead of the present day ‘squeeze money out’ one.

I'm always a huge proponent for developers escaping the shackles of greedy corporate publishers.

I hope it works out for them, but it will be tough. Not having the resources of their former company, nor having the IP's (Or licencing) to work on the stuff they may want will be significant.

Will be interesting to see what they make of their new company.

More studios is always a good thing. Consolidation is a big part of how the games industry got to it's current state

Reminder that just because a Co-Founder of a famous studio makes their own, doesnt mean whatever they touch will become gold. Daikatana and, more recently, Calisto Protocol are very good examples. I hope they can make good games again, but I wouldnt get my hopes up.

The most recent trend of big devs leaving their now-corporate game dev companies and creating new indie-like companies is not stopping anytime soon. Very soon, the gaming industry will be divided in half between the greedy corporations running games-as-a-service while chasing after money and indie game companies that are making fortunes by giving gamers the actual games that they've always wanted. It'll be interesting to see how the entire gaming industry will be like when this happens.
