What to bring on 4WD trips. Day trip, weekender, 4WD touring.

We’ve had a number of those 12v showers, and although they’re great for dusty adventures, they don’t last. I’ve had quite a few fail due to water leaking into the little 12v pump motor, seizing it. They’re cheap, but the wife was not very cheerful when the last one failed in the bush!

A year or two ago, I bought a robust caravan water pump and teamed it with the shower head from the burned out pump. Much more robust.... And this year, dumped the old shower head and replaced it with a Joolca shower head (robustness teamed with luxury!).

never realize how high the rear of the prado haha, lots of good advice in their mate.
while those 12v showers are good I found them to go through a bit water and rust out with time :/ I went to an oztrail canvas shower bucket that I modified with a ball valve and haven't looked back, all you need is a tree and your set :)
for cold nights camping at the dam I like to throw the staffy in the swag, she's just like a hot water bottle but stays warm haha

I always pack a trap and more poles, pegs and guy rope than I'd ever think I'll needs. Saved me a few times. Spare batteries (head torches), lantern mantels, spare led lantern in case, camp oven. And never forget the wet ones.

Great video, going to turn it into a "checklist" that I'll keep in the car and use before I go away. Can't think of a single thing that you might have forgotten.

A personal fly net, camp chairs/stools, small torches with magnetic bases - stick to the car for good lighting by the door.
