May 31st, 1911. The Titanic is finally complete after 2 years of construction. It’ll be ready for its first voyage a year later. It’s the most luxurious ship in the world. You’ve just read the groundbreaking news in the Daily Herald, and decide to treat yourself to a trip on this floating gem. You head over to White Star Line’s headquarters in London to buy yourself a ticket. You get the cheapest first-class fare for £30 (that’d be over $4,500 today).

Wednesday, April 10th, 1912. The day is finally here! The majestic ship in front of you is bigger than you imagined. As you board the Titanic, Captain Edward Smith himself greets you! Your trip will begin shortly. By the time the liner stops at Cherbourg and Queenstown, over 2,200 passengers and crew will be on board, embarking on their trans-Atlantic trip. The Titanic is ready to sail, and you hear the horns from the deck as you wave goodbye to the people below. The ship is scheduled to arrive in New York a week later on April 17th. But that’s only if things go according to plan… So could the Titanic sinking have been avoided? What if the Titanic never sank?

I live in Belfast and the surreal thing is that anytime I'm watching any movies or documentaries about Titanic I literally just look out my window and see the shipyard where it was built. Gives me chills somethimes.

The thing I’ve always wondered if the Titanic didn’t sink, would we have learned the lessons from it? Like would we make sure we have enough lifeboats for passengers?

Then Rose and Jack would’ve lived happily ever after 🥰

If the titanic never crashed into the iceberg; all those poor victims would have had their dreams come true

One problem to this hypothesis, the titanic disaster was a major motivator to improve regulations in regards to shipboard safety. The Solas safety regulations came into play after the disaster. So thinking that the next ship would have had sufficient lifeboats would be a hard stretch, as the regulations which made it mandatory wouldn't have been in place...

If the Titanic never sank, then there may not have been the necessary changes to the Laws of the Sea, such as all ships maintaining constant radio communication or ships having enough lifeboats to accommodate the entire ship.

The weird thing about the movie "Titanic" is that Rose tries to jump off when the ship is afloat but then jumps back on the ship when it's sinking! 😂

Then DiCaprio's acting career goes very differently

Most likely, she'd also serve as a troop transport ship like the Olympic during WWI or a hospital ship.

"And a rather big blue necklace. nahh. It's just some blue glass."

IMAGINE THIS HAPPENED. Titanic is such a sad event, the people who died deserved much better.

And Celine DIon would have never have sung that song about her heart going on.

If Titanic had survived, she would've had only two years at sea during peacetime before she would probably have been repurposed as either a troop transport or a hospital ship like her sister ships were. So even if the Titanic had survived the iceberg there is still a strong possibility that she would've met a similar fate to either the Britannic, Carpathia or Lusitania. In another timeline Titanic possibly might've shared the fate of the ship that rescued her passengers in real life. Think on that for a second.
