Try This Easy Braid To Fluorocarbon Leader Knot For Beginners! 'Quit Wasting Your Time!'

I know this as an Albright knot. I have been using it for 20 years on my spinning gear. Is is bulkier than the FG and not quite as strong. However, I still use it on my spinning gear instead of wasting time with an FG. The Albright is more than strong enough for everything most people do with a spinning rod. If you use cheap fluorocarbon it is inferior to the FG. When I feel the need to flip with a leader it is FG only. It is small enough to go through the guides on all my rods that don't have micro guides and it doesn't break. The Albright on 50# braid to 25# fluoro won't go through the guides on most of my rods. With the FG, the knot passes through no problem. Good video.

Cool vid. It is a good knot, plenty strong but a little bigger than the FG due to the doubled floro. Perfectly good for light lines/braid. BUT... I do surf casting my rigs run 20-40lb braid to 30 - 50lb mono/floro leaders. When you double 40lb mono you will hear it tick thru the guides and the FG is the best I've found for the heavier lines. There are some easy ways to tie the FG as well although this knot is easier and perfectly good for the light tackle application.

I developed this on my own when braid was first was available in USA within a few weeks as making most sense. Usually I don't bother with securing knots after cinch and have basically never had the knot fail. I have added some securing knots sometimes after seeing some people using but doesn't seem to actually do much. I also don't ever cast the knot through guides unless I've made a mistake and thus doesn't need to be quite as smooth as fg

The fg has never failed me, nor does it cause any problems, and I hardly hear it coming through the guides, but I'm always down to try something new

The video did a fast forward in the middle, and I couldn't see all of the knot. It went from doing the mono to finishing with the braid. Is there another version of this video?
