Today i'm going to show you how to change screen sleep and screen lock timeout on Android 12 or 13 phones

First to change screen sleep go to settings.
Scroll up
then tap on display
Now tap on screen timeout
Select how long you want your phone to wait inactive before the screen turns off.
I will choose 2 minutes.

Now to change the screen locktimeout go back to settings
Then tap on security
Tap on wheel icon next to "Screen lock"
Then tap on "Lock after screen timeout".
Here you can select how long you want your phone to wait to lock after screen timeout.
Let's say 30 seconds.

This means that the screen on my phone will timeout after 2 mins of inactivity.
Following that it will wait another 30 seconds before it locks.

Hello, and thank you for your response and help. I am in "Accessibility Settings, " but there is no "Advance Settings, " nor any of the additional settings you have mentioned in the list followed by accessibility settings. Every phone has its own features. Unfortunately for me, my phone does not have those additional settings. My phone just taught me a lesson not to mess with its settings.😒 Thanks again for your time and assistance. Also, thank you for making and posting this video, for it has helped many others. Good day. 😊

If anyone else somehow ended up here trying to figure out how to change the lock timeout in newer versions of android, it is now called 'Auto lock when screen turns off' and is in Settings > Lock screen > Secure Lock Settings

Every guide I can find constantly says to go into the Security settings but my settings don't say "Security" anywhere.. I don't want my screen to lock but I can't find how to turn it off. I can only turn "time-out" to 10 minutes at the longest and then the screen goes dark (but not off) and locks and I have to swipe in the middle of the screen to continue. My newer phone doesn't do this ever, only the old one and I can't find the setting for it anywhere.

Lock screen shows info I want to read but it fades to dark in 3s. Does anyone know how to increase this delay time. Don't confuse this when the phone is unlocked and under normal use goes to dark. I'm talking about the lock screen showing a summary of notifications time and day. This fades too quickly to be useful.

can you set the screen timeout and screen lock to deactivate after 8pm for example? I use face recognition to unlock it but I cant do it from bed. - i want it on during the day but off at night without having to change it manually every day. thanks

How can I allow myself to see the screen for 2 min. and then it will blackout for 20 seconds and then come on again. This may help my eye from getting blurry.

Also looking for an app that will alarm every 20 or 30 I thermals to remind me to look up from screen and then back again after 20 or 30 seconds? I lost that app?

I hope you see this but I was wondering if you can set the time to longer than 30 minutes or never

I've just bought a Galaxy A71 running Android 13. Alas, the menu options are different from the ones shown in this video: mine has "Security and Privacy", and there doesn't seem to be any option in the submenus to set the screen lock timeout at all. If anyone knows where to find it, please reply!

Just turn off Power Saving mode to extend the timeout of your Lockscreen. Just worked on mine 😉

I change my screen timout to 30min and it stays on with no problem. I changed the lock screen timout to 30min as well, but it still turns off in 5 sec. And yes I followed your instructions for lock screen, but it still would not stay on after 5 seconds.🤔
