Story : She realises that she loved her best friend only when he decides to get married. She isn’t able to handle it maturely. Instead of confessing her feelings, she acts childish tries to one up his fiancée in order for him to realise that he loves Julia not Cameron. But towards the end she realises that her best friend doesn’t feel the same way and wishes the best for him, like she always has throughout their life. She makes amends & let’s go of the idea of being with the her best friend.
It’s a very genuine movie, best friends do fall in love with each other without knowing it. Please watch the movie.

One of my favorite movie because it subverts the expectation. It’s expected for the leading lady to win and be the hero to an antagonist. But Cameron Diaz is no antagonist. She’s actually an angel and is quite literally hard to hate as the movie goes on. So seeing her win was actually a satisfying ending and a better outcome to the expectation of the man-stealer.
It’s a one of a kind and a classic.

Everyone's saying that this movie promotes cheating needs to actually watch the movie. I promise you in the movie itself Julia Roberts character is portrayed objectively as the villain. Both her best friend AKA the groom and his fiance get upset and she ruins their relationship and then has to make amends and apologize.

I actually really like this movie. It’s one of the only movies where it portrays the main female lead as ‘crazy’ as she really is. They don’t try to justify her terrible actions for the sake of a romance plot. They just show you how she makes horrible, self-centered actions, and how people around her try to tell her but she thinks she’s justified UNTIL she realizes how she’s hurting people who she loves and makes amends. She goes through some pretty good character development and matures for her own good and for her friend’s good. It’s a topic not a lot of movies explore.

Julia Roberts is breath taking. My mom loved her (and this movie) so much. Anything she was in my mom loved, with the big wild reddish hair my mom looked a little like her too. I miss my mom dearly!!
