treating the symptoms= masking . We evolved a complex sensitive smelling sense for a reason, bad smells are warnings. Don't mask things, the problem could become serious or very expensive to remedy. Find out the CAUSE, while it is manageable.

You WERE on a mission LOL!!. I came on here because I clean our church every week and it smells so musty it's unreal. Baking soda is a staple, and I find that Febreeze hides a lot of smells, too. Glad you got some relief!!

Thanks. We live in an old apartment and there is water damage where I can't clean. I will try this for sure.

I'm not sure about that, but I do know that if you sprinkle baking soda on it and let it set over night and then vacuum it up, that will really do the trick.

My closet is on the other side of the shower wall. And it stinks like mildew, is there a way to fix this past the vinegar trick? I tried those moisture bags and they fill up really fast. Its just driving me crazy

How long do you leave the bowl out? Till it evaporates?

Mildew is only the start of mold I think correct me if I'm wrong but isn't mildew that starts growing mold

Does that work in nasty smelling basements?

I cough non stop when exposed to vinegar, if I eat something with a drop of vinegar I start to choke. I wonder if there is another method that has nothing to do with vinegar ?
