"In this editorial episode, Mr. Sujit Nair delves into what he terms the 'Two Modi Theory,' which revolves around the distinct roles and challenges faced by two different facets of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political persona. Mr. Nair elucidates that there are essentially two Modis operating as distinct brand propositions within the Indian political landscape: one representing the central government, and the other representing various states.

The Modi at the center, as Mr. Nair outlines, possesses a unique position in Indian politics. He is described as 'undisputable,' meaning that he faces little opposition or challenge to his leadership at the national level. This portrayal suggests that Prime Minister Modi enjoys widespread support and popularity in his role as the leader of the central government. He is seen as not susceptible to anti-incumbency, a phenomenon where elected officials face growing dissatisfaction from the public as their time in office progresses. This implies that the Modi at the center maintains a strong and stable political standing without being affected by this typical trend.

Furthermore, Mr. Nair underscores that the central Modi does not rely on any external individuals or groups to maintain his position. In other words, he stands as a self-sufficient and authoritative figure within the national political arena. This could suggest a high level of autonomy and power associated with the central Modi's role.

On the other hand, the Modi in the states operates under a different set of circumstances. In contrast to the central Modi, the state-level Modi faces what is referred to as 'anti-incumbency.' This implies that state-level leaders associated with Modi's brand may encounter growing dissatisfaction or opposition from the public during their tenures as state chief ministers. The state Modi's position is portrayed as more vulnerable to dispute or challenge, indicating that his leadership may not be as undisputed as that of the central Modi.

Mr. Nair also emphasizes that when the central Modi comes to campaign in different states, he has to rely on the respective state chief ministers for support and cooperation. This highlights the collaborative aspect of political campaigning, where the central leadership depends on local leaders to mobilize and connect with voters effectively.

In essence, the 'Two Modi Theory' presented by Mr. Sujit Nair encapsulates the dynamic and multifaceted nature of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political persona. It illustrates the contrast between his unassailable position as the leader of the central government and the nuanced challenges faced by leaders affiliated with his brand in various Indian states, where they must navigate issues such as anti-incumbency and collaboration with state-level leadership to maintain their political influence."

It is a good analysis. Whatever the media say, now it is almost certain that the perception of BJP and their leadership is steadily changing among the people. The glaring example is the election results of Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. In both states, BJP's star campaigner was the PM himself and still BJP lost the elections miserably. In 2019, BJP won with absolute majority, but the people's perception has changed in 2023. If the Congress party wins most elections in the assembly elections, its aftereffects will linger on till the general elections, which will be held soon after. If BJP is defeated in state elections, the party will have hardly any time to recover from the defeat and recoup itself as a formidable political force. I am in total agreement with Mr Sujit Nair for his incisive analysis. Kind regards.

Modi has coated himself with Teflon so nothing sticks. This is because he has not allowed the free press to question him. The day he gives a public press conference that will be the day he crumbles.

I guess Mr.Nair forgot "chaukidar chor hai" and I remember he said in one of his editorial that it was not a good strategy to attack modi. How time changes!

That’s why AAP and RG are targeting Adani ….thats why he is pissed off …

It's not about who is with Mahua. The action or inaction of other MPs, male or female depends on who is with Adani or not. Everybody cannot take the risk of questioning Adani. It's about Adani not Mahua. All proceedings will stop if Mahua stops asking Adani questions.
