The 1980s were a prolific period for music. This collection of recreations explores a few of my favourite jams from a decade that was dominated by synthesizers and drum machines.

Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough
Talk Talk - It's My Life
Midnight Star - Midas Touch
Bronski Beat - Smalltown Boy
Madonna - Holliday
Hall & Oats - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)
Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
Queen - I Want To Break Free
Rockwell - Sombody's Watching Me
DTrain - You're The One For Me

When you get a copyright claim you know you have done a good job at recreating an 80’s song.

If I had all those synthesizers, I would never leave that room!

People used say the synths were cold, but I’ve yet to hear something more emotional. This is planet number nostalgia.

West end girls. Perfect tone, sound and playing. Masterfully played. All songs.

Transported this 63 year old back to my days at the nightclubs in the 80s.
Thankyou.
Pop around anytime with a few keyboards for a beer and barbie. (BBQ)

That’s quite a collection of vintage gear… and it’s put to good use!

I've always said it, that those synthesizers made the 70's, 80's and 90's music. We have to be thankful for the people that invented them and Japan has a huge role in making all of this happen. God bless all of these people, because of them there are timeless and beautiful, legendary golden songs, sang by the greatest singers who will ever step foot on God's green earth. This guy is clearly a fan of all this. Thank you for your work and the positive vibes. Peace, love and respect!

What nobody is able to do with thousands of plugins this man is able to do it with a bunch of synths. Simply Good music.

As a radio kid who grew up listening to '80s pop, I still feel blessed when I think about it

How many synthesizers do you need? YES!

I also have to add, this must take ages to decompile the synth sounds from these songs and then build/craft them fresh on your mix of different (awesome) gear. And then there's putting it all together!
I don't reckon 99% of peeps would appreciate what it takes behind the scenes to do something like this.

The golden age. Never tired to hear that music.

Damn, that Moog synth produces bass lines that are richer than a double choc sundae with hot fudge sauce loaded on top. Beautiful work Luke!

The synth sounds from my 80s childhood. Gosh, it sounds so good. I miss synthwave. I wish it would make a comeback. Thx for sharing your synth vibes. It made me smile tonight.
