Attack on Titan: How Gabi is like Sasha

Isayama has crafted lots of great multifaceted characters. Every one of them has a unique perspective on the conflict in Attack on Titan. Amongst those are Gabi and Sasha who are very different but also alike. In this video I wanna share my thoughts on those characters with you.

Exactly ! That’s why I didn’t hated her, I just saw her as the «pre-development Sasha »
When she was selfish and unlikeable, and was like « if she knew the whole story, I know who she would become »

It’s why it was such a hurtfull scene, Sacha weirdly saw a part of her in the girl « The fear of the outsider » + propaganda.

I feel that it’s not her to be hate but the propaganda around her. A story of today, a story of yesterday, a story of tomorow : « here’s your ennemy, hate it. Why ? Because we said so. »

Gabi is the best female character in AOT not even close. I didn’t like her at start but she became a lot more likeable over time. As far as the current ending no other female character has a more complete character development compared to Gabi.

Super insightful! You know, watching this, I realized Gabi embodies the trio of Sasha, Jean, and Connie pretty well all at once. She’s the three of them combined in a way. You pointed out the draws between Sasha and Gabi flawlessly, but also, look at Jean’s character arc! Going from someone so passionately subscribed to his idea of happiness to someone who faces the world head on and becomes a leader. Gabi let’s go of the way she sees the world and becomes stronger for it. And of course, Gabi also has the same “family pride” and the same “comedic tomfoolery” of Connie.

I strongly disagree with you I like Gabbi from the episode she was introduced. I never found her unlikeable at all, She in my mind is what season one Eran should have been.

To clarify I despise season one Eran. He's whining, Arrogant but with no feats or abilities to back it up. He had determination but lacked the intelligence to come up with any clear plan other than charge. Worst he looked down at others it's not that it's not that he just thought he was so great it was that he thought others were less especially if they didn't meet his standards.

Gabbi to contrast, Has some of the traits of Eran. Stubbornness, Arrogance, Attendancy to solve problems of violence, But she has none of the problems season one Eran has. She's competent not just arrogant, She actually plans and comes up with ideas instead of just flinging flinging herself head 1st in, And while She might think she's the greatest she doesn't give off the impression that she despises those around her like Eran does.

In the video you said gabi killed sasha after sasha saved her is that true?
What do you think about gabi before her character development I mean it from a writing perspective.

yeah I hate it. Sasha was a sniperand Isayama made her kill her and then replace her.
