Trump names new acting director of national intelligence

President Trump named Joseph Maguire to replace Dan Coats as acting director of national intelligence. Maguire's nomination follows the withdrawal of Mr. Trump's original pick, Rep. John Ratcliffe of Texas, who wthdrew his name following media scrutiny over his qualifications for the role.

Sue Gordon, the deputy to Dan Coats, has 30 years experience in the intelligence field and by all accounts is universally respected as someone who speaks truth to power. Not good enough for Donald Trump. He wants a yes-man who will toe the political line and not disagree with him in public. The words Trump and Intelligence are an oxymoron.
