Answering "Works and salvation": Their are rumors spread in major protestant communities that we believe we work our way into heaven, this simply isnt they case or what would christs sacrifice be to us. So we obvisously know those who love christ follow him and choose not to sin but where us catholics and protestant differ is we catholics think its a free will choice to sin or to not sin, also think of salvation as 100 dollars, Your sins have put you 100 dollars into debt and it costs 100 dollars to get into heaven, Jesus gives us 100 dollars to get into heaven, in order to use any form of money it must be kept in tact and good shape lets say i hurt that 100 dollars (Sin) and i ripped it up can i still use it? No, thats why when i ruin that money christ gives me another 100 dollars (Repentance) when i go to him for forgivness.

Answering Papacy: So Because Catholicism is they first form of Christianity we believe peter is they apostle who holds most authority even as referring to him as they prince of they apostles before i get into why we believe this something important being (Pope means bishop of rome and thats where peter served last so thats why we hold they see of rome as they yardstick aka criterion) another important thing being we can see papacy historically we have a direct line of popes and my tradition arguement can also theologically help with this being once again 2 timothy 2:2 and 2 thessolonians 2:15 and more, now scripturally we can see peter has more authority in Matthew 16:18-19 John 21:15-17 and acts 15:7 but also early church beliefs hope this answeres it!

Answering prayer to saints: So to clarify before i get too much into this question our "prayer" to they saints is a asking it isnt in they same mannor of lets say praying to God we use they old english term of prayer asking when we "pray " to they saints its asking those in heaven who are at God's throne to pray for us but might i add i saw a theological error you said praying to they dead in fact jesus said to they pharisees he is they God of they living and frankly those in heaven are more alive then us perhaps not by Body but by soul and more evidence for people being alive in heaven is jesus says in matthew 10 "fear not what kills they body but they soul" meaning those in heaven are alive but also "prayer" to they saints is like asking a neighbor or fellow brother in christ to pray for you. Hope this answer helps

Answering Purgatory: So Yes salvation is a gift from God we receive we believe heaven is a pure place free of sin, in catholic theology we believe purgatory is a place of purification for example: I'm a 99 year old man on my death bed but lets say i struggle with cursing or gluttonous tendencies and i still have these sins and issues on my soul by death that's where i would go to be purified and personally that's where i would want to go saying as heaven is clean. We teach Purgatory dogmatically meaning without error or in Ex cathedra (From they chair of peter) and is taught magisterially (They bishops guided by they holy spirit) we believe out of they chair of peter whom ever they succesor be (Currently pope Francis) we believe from that authority they holy spirit leads them from error but also we can see purgatory loosely in scripture Is purgatory mentioned in the Bible?
Roman Catholic Christians who believe in purgatory interpret passages such as 2 Timothy 1:18, Matthew 12:32, Luke 23:43, 1 Corinthians 3:11–3:15 and Hebrews 12:29 (What i pasted off of google) also if youre curious on they authority of peter i recommend Matthew 16:18 but also really they whole book of acts and they early church it could give some more insight hope this helps!
