I've just got myself a M1 Max with 64gb and 1Tb ssd few days back for a far cheaper price. I'm talking about 50% cheaper with only 30 of cycle count! Coming from a full specs i9 2019 MBPro..this is a BEAST! I'm telling ya, it's gonna to stay with me for years!

Thanks for the update! I was afraid you'd say it was time to upgrade to an M2 or M3....but you still have and love your M1. Phew! I say that because I'm looking at upgrading from a 2014 MBP to a gently used M1 Pro 16 GB 512GB. This video (and I watched your other 2 that I found about this computer ) have helped me to lock in my decision to buy the one I have my eye on! So again, thank you!

May you do an updated version of this … or what you believe is the closest best thing to this MacBook in your video

It’s true about the Intel and the M1 Pro comparison. Night and day. I-9 MacBook Pro kicks the fans on the moment it turns on, and I’m exporting our final cut. Good luck, even watching a video. The M1 Pro, I purposely open every single application. I have on while exporting to see if I can cause the fence to go off, till this day, i have not been able too

I have the exact model Mac and it is so slow when I edit in premier pro and after effects. It frustrates me so much 😅 I can’t even watch a playback of my timeline once I have a few effects applied. I definitely need to upgrade computers. For simple editing this unit is solid but when you throw heavy editing at it… not so solid haha

uh, umm 🙋‍♀
I am confused. Did I hear correctly that the M1 Air pro is your main computer that you do everything on?
I clicked on "My Main Computer" to take a look. It is not the M1 it is a M2. Please explain.
Great video. Kept me engaged.

I have the same model except with the 1TB drive. I wish I got the 32GB model. I find the RAM gets eaten up with Lightroom. There are times when Lightroom Classic 13 alone is running 13-15GB of RAM and I have another 10-13GB of swap being used. I'm actually considering a refurbished M1 Max w/ 64GB since it is $1000 less than the M3 Max with only 36GB memory.

But what if you were buying your first Mac Book? I am a life-long Windows user and have not had a laptop for years. I need a laptop now, and was looking at the MS Surface Studio to travel with, but discovered that Mac Book Pro was 30% lighter with double the battery life, so I am seriously considering switching camps — but only for the laptop. I hadn't thought about a refurbished MBP, so that's something to look into thank you. If I do get a new laptop, would the M3 Pro be a good fit? I have a full Creative Cloud subscription and mostly use Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Will a Mac integrate with my Windows 11 desktop? It's all very new to me, and I feel like there's a lot to learn.

I'm looking to learn photo and video editing and came across your channel and I did subscribe. So they don't sell the laptop new in this video and want to know if the next generation m2 pro is just as good. I don't know about computers and don't know if just because the MacBook Pro m2 Pro is newer that it is better.... worse.... or the thanks for your help

haha, loving the Premiere burn. (Unfortunately, I have to use that). Do you edit natively largely on the 14" screen? I find I have to use my laptop screen as base/control centre and a larger (28") monitor as work space @home. Seduced by the M3 Max but that seems optimised for 16.

Do you always need to go find your external drive when you want to look at your photos? I have always had my lightroom catalogue on my internal drive but it's getting a bit big now. But i really dont like the idea of always having to find my external drive if I want to look at or edit some pictures.. Whats the best workflow?

The only thing I don't like about apple.... Is they create thing for you to spend more money

But MacBooks expire after 5 years. There is no way to adapt to latest software. What’s the point in spending so much!

I have question for fast video editing should I look at the ram or processor. For example should I go with ryzen 5 16 gb ram or Intel I7 8 gb ram?

I will love to get a Mac but my big problem is they are way to expensive and I don't have no problem investing in one. But my issue is that isn't future proof cause Apple will have an expiration date since day one when you buy one of their products and is the downfall of Apple compared to other companies. Is why I stayed away from their products

Do you think that 24 Ram on the M3 base M3 model is worth it to edit video 4k or 8k or sticking to 16 RAM is better, thinking to upgrade my intel MacBook 2016! on budget of course...seems like the m3 pro chip is not such a big difference performance and more expensive. Thanks for your advice
