Nissan Leaf motor and inverter removal, RX8 EV Conversion

Making really good progress, just a bit of work each day and its amazing how you get along. Motor is out of the Leaf now, and I can chat to the BMS system - more on that in another video...

Nice one ! Are you planning to use the leaf motor/inverter for your RX8?

Really good stuff.
Why don't you scrap the entire driveline from the RX8 and just place the Leaf motor and gearbox in the back, where the differential currently resides?
I think the height of the motor "stack" might be your biggest issue, but you might be able to place the inverter or the charger in the boot.
That leaves tons of space for batteries in the center tunnel with decent weight distribution 🙂
