Scholars have different opinions on the source behind Jude 6 ("the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority"--ESV). It could be a reference to the primordial fall of Satan and the angels who rebelled with him. But, more importantly, St. Jude's and St. Peter's use of non-canonical apocryphal material (Enoch and Assumption of Moses) no more suggests that they accepted them as reliable documents than St. Paul's citation from ancient poems about Zeus (Acts 17:28) means that he believed the poets were "inspired" or that everything they said in the poems he cited was true. St. Paul knew that what the pagan poets said about Zeus rightly applied to the true God (the "unknown God"). He by no means was endorsing the poets or their works; he was merely making appropriate use of something his audience was familiar with in order to reach that audience with the gospel of Christ. St. Peter's and St. Jude's use of apocryphal material should be understood similarly.

They most definitely believed in the book of Enoch. The question is what do we as catholics, who lack Enoch in our canon, do with that information.

The book of Enoch is true. That small verse in the book of Genesis gives us a hint of what happened, and yes, giants, were a product of the union of demons and women Goliath was one of those giants, and there were many, many more!

Their skeletons are still being found. Yes I believe they know it to be true.

Some things the Lord doesn't want us to know. Or maybe there is no real need for the knowledge. God is Good and all things will work out for the good

This is KEY!! What did the Apostles themselves think? That should be the question we ask as we consider who did what to the sacred writings.

According to St. Clement of Rome, who spoke directly with St. Peter on the matter, we can definitively say, yes. St. Peter absolutely ascribed to the events of Enoch 100%.

The Book of Enoch should have never been removed from the Bible. What is the church hiding?

Yes, the Church fathers have mentioned the book. The book of Enoch was found in Ethiopia, a devout traditional Christian country. People really need to research where Enoch came from. The Didache is also a very important book that should be in the collection.

It would have been great to ask some of the Church's mystics this question such as Padre Pio... That would be interesting 🤔

Besides the Gospels of Christ, i believe Genesis and Revelations are more relevant & important than most people understand...

The language of the old testament is written in a style that is different then ours. You cannot take how they said what they said literally. Proper understanding is learned by special study.
