She talks to him like she's trying to attack him and get him to say the wrong thing. Personally I'm much more interested in interviewers with a genuine passion and curiosity about technology. Makes for a more interesting conversation.

Watched him live in Qatar a few weeks ago. Fascinating person and comes off as incredibly humble despite his visionary achievements. To be saluted.

I love that his first words on stage had to be "I don't think so."

Good discussion! Can Bloomberg keep pushing for a government policy where if a country leader/govt wants to use these powerful technologies, this deal should be transparent and discussed and debated in public and Not behind closed doors.

I understand that it was a challenging question to answer in the end, and he made an effort to be as honest and genuine as possible. However, many humans often prefer being lied to if it provides them with a sense of security. Information like that is prone to being misinterpreted and exploited to incite fear. Balancing the amount of truth to disclose while also providing reassurance through lies is indeed a thought-provoking philosophical dilemma.

With changes in the economy leading to instability in the stock market, some individuals may face a decrease in their investments in an effort to benefit from the current market conditions, I am considering liquidating my $725k portfolio consisting of bonds and stocks. Someone else in the same situation? Please tell me in the comments!..

The moral imperative to continue developing AI, on the basis of all the areas where it can improve quality of life, reduce suffering, improve efficiency of resource utilization, address poverty and environmental degradation, advance knowledge, etc... outweighs the moral case for stopping development on the off chance that it leads to some AI catastrophe. I mean, we don't know what we're missing in terms of all the good it might bring, and the only way to find out, and to get to that good, is to keep going. It's like any technology humankind has ever developed. You keep going until you find out what's possible with it, and what's not, and you do your best to anticipate and mitigate potential pitfalls along the way.

What an amazing perspective from Sam about why he has no equity. This is a breath of fresh air to hear THAT reason to do what he is doing.

When I first learned about Sam and watched some interviews, he did not come across as smooth and natural as he does now. He definitely is much more confident and natural with public speaking and not as seemingly guarded. But woah - @08:47 I swear it looked like she was eyeing Sam up like he was some eye candy, lol! It was right after she asked about his relationship with Elon, and as he soon as he started to respond, she quickly darted her eyes down and back up with the look.

TLDR: The key idea of the video is that while there is excitement and optimism about the future of AI, it is important to drive social change, address potential risks, and establish global regulation to ensure the safe and beneficial development of AI technology.

00:00 😮 People all over the world are excited and optimistic about the future of AI, but there is also a level of anxiety and tension.
01:27 📺 The speaker highlights the importance of driving social change with AI, customization of AI tools, global cooperation in development, and the need to address potential risks and safety measures associated with powerful technology.
04:37 💡 The speaker believes that the tremendous benefits of AI, such as improved education and medical care, outweigh the risks, and global regulation can help ensure its safety.
06:00 👨‍💼 Global regulation is crucial for AI, but small startups should not be overburdened; certification and audits should be mandatory for advanced AI models, and Google is a strong player in the field.
08:44 🤔 AI has the potential for both positive and negative outcomes, so it's crucial to maintain a balanced perspective and not solely focus on the negatives.
11:38 🤖 The future of AI is a personal tool that can assist individuals, but there are concerns about misuse and bias, although GPT4 has reduced bias through reinforcement learning human feedback, questions remain about user control and societal limits.
14:02 🤖 OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes that financial incentives are not important for their involvement in OpenAI, as they are more focused on the impact and fulfillment they gain from contributing to human technological progress and believe that the future of AI is crucial for humanity.
17:30 🤖 AI will revolutionize technology, enabling us to do impactful and interesting things, but it is crucial to democratize access and establish governance to ensure trustworthiness.

He talked about amazing things despite the negative questions. I'd love to hear more about the positives and opportunities. I'm so sick of these interviewers just baiting him with negative "gotcha" questions. They really miss a huge opportunity to get the best out of him in these interviews.

So lucky to witness the nascent stage of a new technology, kinda. Wonder if this is how people felt when Turing came up with the Turing machine 🤔
