Love the video! If you're looking for a tip: As an avid cyclist who's changed many tires/fixed many flats on tight carbon rims, I can say that a quality pair of tire levers makes all the difference. It looks like you're using a common cheap pair without a good size for your hand or enough strength to work a tight/thick bead. For wheels like this motorcycle tire irons probably make sense; they would pop the bead off no problem. They're like tire levers but metal and way stronger, come with protection for the rim where you use it but made for this purpose.

The tire lever has 2 ends: a flat end and a hooked end. Use the flat end of one to pop a portion of the tire bead over the rim like you do in the video. Then hook the hooked end of the other one on the now exposed bead. Grab the body of that tire lever in your fist and pull along the circumference of the tire. The entire thing should pop off with no issues.

I just did two of these tires in one night using this video as a guide. THANK YOU!! Regarding the tire I found them to be super easy ... I'm thinking thanks to having been a cyclist since the mid 80s and having changed a number of onewheel tires, each of which is way harder than this! It also might be because I weigh a lot and am able to use my ice cream based mass to force the tire on.
I only needed one short plastic tire iron. The technique I've always used is pry the tire off the bead at a single point, leave the iron beneath the bead, and then squiggle it around the rim, working your way around, maybe prying sometimes if you need to. No problem.
Then to put the tire back on you just use your hands and body weight - working the bead over most of the rim is not too bad right, it's that last little bit that is nasty - to do that you hold the tire and sort of roll it away from you while pushing down on it with your big fat body (oh is that just me?) and it should eventually pop on. I can make a video if that makes no sense.
But seriously I was dreading the tire portion of these changes so much, but the most time consuming thing for me ended up being unscrewing the screws underneath the padding. I hate that.

It helps to take out the valve stem.
Also, some spring clamps on the opposite side of the tires helps the beads get into the rim deeper, making it easier to pry the tire over the rim.

Another great video! I’m sticking with the stock tire I lowered the PSI to 30 and I think it’s working great. Keep up the great content bro.

Had to revisit this video. Have a slow leak on a slimed tube and ordered a tube and CST tire, since I'll have open it up anyway.

If you put the wheel upright, then removing the tire is much easier. It just pulls down at an angle of 45 degrees.

Good sh*t! Subbed! Excellent vids man...very well done. Just upgraded from 16S to 16X...helluva change. Can't believe how quickly my feet get sore on the 16X. Can ride for hours on the 16S with no issues. Guess I just need the milage.

Hey evil, I’m working on my unicycle 16 X and I was watching your video because this is the first time I’m ever opening wheel. My handle is not working and the top part (handle)came off and I had to turn the sensor off in order for the wheel to work. I understand that you live in New York City, and I was wondering if we could somewhere meet up perhaps on 42nd St. where my wife lives to work on the unit itself, I bought the tools and everything so you don’t have to worry about bringing any I just need to learn how to fix the handle in order for me to ride and I can make my money again since I do deliveries. Thanks

5:46 those "irons" seem a little small and flimsy. It doesn't look like you can use much levered advantage with them, and the "noses" on them seem oddly "fat" and knurled. If you can find / get them, I recommend 2 or 3 Drop Forged Steel, 240mm tire levers. Those are large enough for both my wheels, the 16X and S22, and work like a charm. You get plenty of leverage without over-exertion, but they're not so large that you can easily over-apply force when you don't want to and potentially bend your rim. I have 2, and it's a little more work, but it does the job easily enough. With 3, it should be a breeze. Don't go too much bigger than that size; the bigger they are the more leverage you get, and a little goes a long way. Too large, and you may inadvertently apply too much force unintentionally, at a point where the tyre doesn't want to give easily. As mentioned, that's when you bend your rim...

When changing motorcycle tires, you have to squeeze thre opposite side of the tire beads together so that they fall into the recess of the rim. This gives you more room to lever the tire. It did not look like you did that and it might be why you were struggling. I have not changed a tire on my 16X yet, so I do not how deep the recess is and could not tell on the video.
