Smurfs
Although The Smurfs were created in 1958, they secured their place in North American pop culture in 1981, when the Saturday-morning cartoon series The Smurfs, premiered.

California Raisins
The concept was originally created for a 1986 Sun-Maid commercial on behalf of the California Raisin Advisory Board These wind-up toys were copyrighted by the California Raisin Advisory board in 1988. They are licensed by Applause Licensing.
The lead singer, Tiny Goodbite, is sporting a tuxedo and tuxedo shoes while he soulfully sings into the hand-held microphone.
Ben Indasun (in the sun haha) is the cool dude wearing sunglasses and orange shoes.
The only female band member, Grape is looking good in her makeup, jewelry and green high-heeled shoes.
Justin X, also known as the cool guy Ray, dances and sings.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
A 1982 American science fiction film produced and directed by Steven Spielberg, The concept was based on an imaginary friend Spielberg created after his parents' divorce in 1980.
The E.T. wind-up toy has moving arms and a moving head.
Epcot is a theme park at Walt Disney World. The park opened in 1982. Epcot stands for: Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

The new doll brand set every toy industry sales record for three years running, and was one of the most popular lines of children’s licensed products in the 1980s and has become one of the longest-running doll franchises in the United States.
