Показать описание
In Mesa, AZ what drivers do you need to add to your auto insurance policy? Find out here to make sure you're covering yourself properly.
Hey, guys. Today we are talking about who needs to be added onto your auto insurance policy as a covered driver. This is an area where a lot of people try and game the system or try and slip through the cracks by not adding certain people onto their auto insurance policy. This is a big no no. You never want to try to get cheaper insurance by not adding people who need to be added on to your auto insurance policy.
Here, plain and simple, is who needs to be added onto your auto insurance policy, as a driver. Anybody who lives in your house who's a licensed driver. It doesn't matter how old or how young, or how often or how in-often they drive your car. If someone is living in your house and they are a licensed driver, they need to be added on to your auto insurance policy.
Now, some people will say, "Well, what about I have somebody who never ever, ever will drive my car. I don't want to add them onto my auto insurance policy and pay more money." There is one option, but it's an option that I don't often recommend, and that is to exclude that person on your auto insurance policy. If you exclude them, you're not going to have to pay for them as an extra driver, but they can not drive your car for any circumstance. Even if they want to back out your car of the driveway, even if they need to run real quick to the grocery store, they are not covered if you exclude them as a driver. The easy rule of thumb, if they're licensed and they're living in your house, they need to be added on to your auto insurance policy.
Another person that would need to be added on to your auto insurance policy, even if this person is not living in your house, if they're driving your car on a regular basis, most insurance companies, and check with yours, but most insurance companies define a regular basis as at least once a month. So if you have somebody who drives your car at least once a month on a regular basis, they too need to be added onto your auto insurance policy.
Now, why is this so important? Like I said, a lot of people like to save money and not tell their insurance company about them. More and more insurance companies are writing into their contracts where people are undisclosed drivers and they're in an accident in your vehicle, there's not going to be coverage there. Don't bet your financial security, your financial future, by trying to save a couple bucks a month. Call your insurance agent, talk with them. Make sure that if somebody is driving your car, make sure if you know if they needs to be added to your policy or not. If they do, add them on. Like I said, secure your financial stability, your financial future. You'll be very happy that you did.
