I fucking love Nelson Mandela, ever since I was 12 when I was assigned a project on him. He's a genuine living hero. He started with peaceful protests, eventually understood that violence has its place in causing great change, co-founded a militant group and lead bombing operations. Then after all that violence, it was back to peaceful ways with violence called for when needed. He shows how change is done. All the respect to this guy. A Real Hero.

Gandhi and Mandela. The two greatest souls of the 20th century and both came out of South Africa as it were. What Gandhi started, Mandela finished, even if his methods were less than peaceful. But South Africa is not India and nonviolence probably ever worked once, in that historical instance, due to the convergence of different Historical and Sociological factors.
