What happened to the Other WTC Buildings?

Fun fact: The new WTC4 building was engineered by Leslie E. Robertson, the same guy who was responsible for engineering the original twin towers. He died a couple years ago shortly before his 93rd birthday.

1:52 If you're talking about WTC 4, this isn't true. The South Tower itself is what took out almost all of Building 4. I know I reference this video a lot, but it shows a lot. In the video from the Millennium Hilton hotel room, once WTC 2 was down, what remained of Building 4 was pretty much exactly how it was seen in the many photos, and videos of the aftermath. Building 5 and 6 were still intact when the North Tower was still up, minus some broken windows.

Thank you for making this video, buildings 4, 5, and 6 both new and old are very overlooked so I'm glad you made a video on it. I personally liked the design of the old complex better than today's, even the old 4, 5, and 6, but that's probably just nostalgia bias

This series is fascinating and very enjoyable to watch. I wonder how 9/11 would have played out if the terrorists had managed to take out the Brooklyn Bridge instead of attacking the World Trade Center. I read somewhere that there was a plot to do just that and fortunately it was foiled just in time.

The original 6 World Trade Center was the U.S. Customs House. Customs offices have been dispersed throughout the Tri-State New York City area.

Thanks for speaking my quiet thoughts out loud! I've often wondered about build 3-6. Thanks for telling the difference between building four and five. That is QUITE confusing to me as to why they were designed as close to twins as they were.

What is the map from 7:23 from? It shows a different site plan than what was built. I can't find any other entries about this particular unbuilt rebuild plan anywhere online.

Wasn't the end of "trading places" filmed inside one of the trading pits in one of the smaller buildings of the wtc. ??

None of the buildings were rebuilt. The current buildings are completely different in design and (except for the new WTC 4 & 7) are in completely different locations. They just repurposed the building numbers for the new buildings.

They should have rebuild 1 an 2 first, as Twins and with look of the original structures. One WTC is not bad, but the original looked much more unique with their column trees and lines to the sky. They were "the skyscraper"

The original WTC 4 building had a cool design. I like the mid century style pillars that helped up the building. Why do people constantly try to make fun of the 70s when they obviously didn’t live during that time and hate on it for no reason.

Here’s some video ideas. Songs about 9/11. The best being Alan Jackson’s. Box car racer did some that wasn’t so good. Then the singer of my chemical romance watched the towers collapse and it inspired him to start the band and write their first song about it. That could be good. Then there’s the World Trade Center in media. Video games too.

I like the design of the new 1 WTC but honestly all the others I'm not the biggest fan of. I just loved the symmetrical look of the Twin towers and how every time I've seen pictures of them it really did look like a place of business and trade, worthy of the name "World Trade Center". They looked uniform and utilitarian but also very beautiful in their simplicity. Something about the radically different designs of each of the new towers doesn't look right to me after knowing what was there before. Of course the gravity of the tragedy necessitates a change to the site, there needed to be a place for people to mourn and memorialize the dead, the places the original towers stood is hallowed ground and I think they did an amazing job with the memorial aspect. To me the design of the new towers represent America after 9/11, radically different and not in a good way.
