Finding Out: The Challenges of Growing Up With HIV - (16 Mins)

‘Finding Out’ is the first of three films looking at the challenges faced by young people living with HIV in Africa. A young film maker, who grew up with HIV in the UK, explores the stories of counterparts in Malawi and Zimbabwe. The film focuses on the way in which young people find out they have HIV, and the negative impact of school education designed to create fear of infection. A must see for anyone working with young people in Africa.

Picturing Health works in countries around the world using film and art to improve public health. We make innovative interactive films to train and motivate health workers, turn quantitative research and qualitative research into practice, inform and empower patients, spark community debate and change attitudes towards healthcare. Our projects cover topics from HIV, TB and diabetes, to emergency medicine and mental health awareness. We use art in our videos and art therapy for mental health.
