Emmit's Place was rockin' to the sounds of Zydeco music this night as C.J. Chenier and his band was in the house. C. J. Chenier is the Creole son of the Grammy Award winning "King of Zydeco", Louisiana musician, Clifton Chenier. In 1987, Chenier followed in his father's footsteps, and led his father's band as an accordion performer and singer of Zydeco. It was real cool to hear that beautiful blend of cajun and creole with a touch of the blues thrown in for extra flavor. C.J. and the guys were hot tonight. Here they are performing "Stand By Me" with a segue into "My Baby's Gone." We hope you enjoy it, we did. (12/8/2012)
