It's tough to cut it down to 5. You could make an argument for All Star Comics #3 (1940) to be on the list. First appearance of the JSA and the first time a bunch of heroes from solo stories came together as a super team.

Action comics #1 is the truly the biggest game changer of them all because it did truly start the superhero genre from the very beginning at least in my opinion.

One comic book I would add is the All Star Comics 3, which was the first apperance of the JSA. They were the first super hero team and (at least in my opinion) the concept of shared universe, where one character can meet another. If wasn't for them, probably there wouldn't beJustice League, the Avengers, the X-men, the Fantastic Four or any other super hero team.

Good list. I would have chosen a couple different ones and found a way to fit TMNT 1 in there, since it had such an impact on Indie comics, but I'm sure everyone has their own top 5.

Great video! Can we get 6-10 game changing comics of all time? I think the top 5 aren't that debatable (at least for me). Eric is probably my favorite guest!

That's a great list....I would say the top five in my lifetime are the Phoenix Saga, leading to the Death of the death of Gwen Stacey, Crisis of Infinite Earths was huge, the Killing Joke was just so different for the time, and Spawn #1 just because it created another player and it wasn't just the big two anymore....

Plenty of people argue that Japan introduced the first super hero. Golden Bat is a magic-using Atlantean hero first introduced publicly 8 years before Action Comics #1.

Nice list, well presented. Crisis certainly got me reading many more DC titles. Flash, Superman, Justice League iterations were great, Booster Gold

The 5 that came to my mind right off the top of my head were X-men: Death of Phoenix, Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen, Death of Super-man, and aforementioned Crisis on Infinite Earths. All game changing books and series during my lifetime.

Nice list. Was expecting all of them except for the Flash.

Hard to argue with any of these. Maybe All Star #3. Great video Wes and Eric! COIE is my favorite story of all time and pointed me down the road toward making DC my favorite publisher. Too bad it's been undone at this point.

Who is the lone bumpkin that gave this a thumbs down?

A thumbs down, even before anyone could have finished the video. That's some big mad. 😆 But hey, all interaction helps the channel!

Crisis had problems because it had to to be undone a few years later.
BTW the tv 📺 adaptation was terrible
It made the Crisis story seem more horrible
