Hey Mr.DS,

I just wanted to let you know the impact your videos made. Last year, as a high school senior, I took APES. Within the first couple months, our teacher was diagnosed with cancer, and was in and out of the classroom. Thus, I had several (inefficient) teaches attempting to teach me material in different ways with different results. In March, my original teacher unfortunately passed away, and I was posed with a choice - to take the APES test as a tribute to her life, or to skip it and get a refund (because due to the death of my teacher, my school offered refunds). After much thought and with one month to cover the entire subject, I decided to take the test. I studied every day for about an hour, mixing in your videos with basic content review. Near the end, I attended your livestreams and was able to both comprehend and answer the questions you would pose to the audience. I felt great - I was finally able to understand what was being taught and how to take this test. Right before she passed away, she sent us each a letter with a recycled-materials pencil and pen. On the test, I used the pen to illustrate what I was thinking and held the pen when I needed a bit of luck when choosing between multiple answer selections, but also remembered your videos when I had thought I forgot the concept. After months of waiting, I finally got my score - a 5. This story isn’t supposed to be me bragging about how I got a 5, but a testament to you as an educational professional. You are one of the most helpful teachers I ever had, and along with (maybe?) some divine intervention, I was able to made my teacher proud, even if she wasn’t alive.

Thank you, Mr. DS. You gave me something that, for the rest of my life, I can consider a fitting tribute to the life of my teacher.
