I should also mention that I do not recommend using earbuds for extended periods of time especially for tf2 where the volume is usually needed to be quite high. Compared to over eat headphones, earbuds/IEMs are much more likely to cause hearing loss and tinnitus which can be very painful in the long run. Here is a quote medical daily for evidence “To preserve your hearing, doctors recommend headphones, which sit on your head like earmuffs, rather than earbuds, which fit inside your ear. The main reason is earbuds naturally add about 9 dB of volume because they are closer to the ear canal. Add to that, earbuds do not block out as much background noise, so most of us will crank up the volume to unsafe levels. Plus, there are many cheap earbuds on the market which may be great in a pinch, but these poorly made products will distort sound or produce uneven levels of sound and this leads most of us, once again, to increasing the volume to harmful levels.” If you’re going to use IEMs please be careful about volume levels and if you can use external speakers most of the time and go to the headphones for competitive matches.

In Ear Monitors are made for hearing music just as it was recorded earbuds are made for commercial non production listening for example if you want to listen to music with heavy bass that can over power other sounds and even distort the quality of your music you get something like Beats, for a more pure sound you get iem's like Revonext or KZ brand.

How can I get into competitive ? I've no idea and it feels like a very closed community. I've about 1.7k hours and would be interested. I've done a bunch of HL on center a while back but that wasn't that interesting and just felt like a glorified pub.

In previous seasons of highlander, the heavy was the designated spy checker for the combo, leaving the pyro to play more with the engy, sniper or on the flank. Recently the pyro had become the designated spy checker for the combo. Overall what are your thoughts on different classes responsibilities besides fighting/healing. Such as tracking advantage, maincalling, spychecking etc. Sixes or hl. Also I was the one med in the harvest pub today when you got seven meds on scout lmao

Don't know if anyone will read this now but if you watch headphone reviews here is something to know. Soundstage is how far away music can sound. The directionality is called "imaging". So for comp you want a close soundstage to hear footsteps from farther away. IEMs are better for this but you can get a more immersive experience with headphones. Just get one with good imaging. Also you can make custom IEMs with Radians earplugs and they cost around 10 USD. Literally custom IEMs for like sub 50 USD.

Very helpful..i use iEM for live streaming, and recording.. IEMS looks clean, and neat. Its also convenient to carry at your pocket

I'm looking in to IEMs (Under 150$) currently and would like a recommendation. I play fortnite (but also other games) and I'd like more positional awareness of me and other players. My biggest worry is the durability and warranty, I'd like them to either last long or have a long lasting warranty as well. detacheable cable is also a plus. Anything that might fit those boxes? I am currently looking at MEE Audio M6 Pro and Shure SE215. IF you have other suggestions, that'd be amazing.
