Deep Purple - Woman From Tokyo - drum cover

Показать описание
This song has a great groove, it was the first song recorded for DP's 7th album Who Do We Think We Are and that's probably a good thing, the record company and management had them working their asses off to the point of exhaustion and sickness, this really was the norm for a lot of musicians if you made it, they worked you to death without any thought of your health, mentally or physically, so before you sign that contract be sure it specifies that you have time off. This is what really drove the band to fighting and most songs on this album were recorded by some members seperately so they wouldn't fight, Gillan left and Glover followed after this album, their last concert together was June 29 1973 in Osaka until 1984 when this Mk II line up reunited for Perfect Strangers.
This album was started in Rome in July of 1972 and not finished until October of that year in Frankfurt due to frantic concert schedules which gives you an example of how overworked they were.
I add a few things here and there to personalize it but it's such a great drum track and groove and fun to play why mess with it? Ian is such a great drummer, study him and how he lays back in places and wails in others, he knows what to play and when, his work in early Whitesnake is also amazing, check out the killer drums on Hot Stuff, studying Ian's early Whitesnake work will help you become a serious hard rock drummer.
Don't forget DP is still going strong, the current line up is amazing with the core Gillan, Paice, Glover and Don Airey keys since 2003 and Steve Morse guitar since 1996, their latest Now What? is up there with DP's best work Machine Head, Perfect Strangers, & Purpendicular, check it out.
