In this video I play 9 holes using and teaching the DECADE strategy. Scott Fawcett is famous for creating the strategy and claims it is the best formula to play good golf. I have been big fan of Scotts for a while and think he is the number one course managment instructor. if you guys enjoy this video make sure to check out DECADE GOLF. This was just a brief overview and there is so much more too it that Scott explains way better than I could.

Great stuff! Really like some of the graphics and animations you used. That said, there’s no chance I said “sup” or “keep it chill”, I’m way too old for that!!! 😂😂🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️ 🤛🤛

Nicely done! Scott should thank you for illustrating his method so well. Even the par 5 screw up was a great example of what happens when you deviate and take excessive risk!

Decade system can be improved if you map your individual dispersion. For example if you miss right but rarely left you can take on a left pin just not a right one. 1 of many examples. Common sense amongst better tournament golfers

Hey there, new viewer. Great video. Loving the 'tryna kick a field goal between..." and "pretty much how we drew it up" catch phrases. Could be cool to have on merch someday. Cheers from Boston

Awesome video gents, keeping the Par 5 where you struggled brings great authenticity and a perfect example of what happens when you don’t play with a well thought out system 👍

Wow, what a great video! Your shorts are already fantastic, but I must say, this longer format is an absolute delight. Your content strikes the perfect balance between being educational and incredibly entertaining. You're truly rocking it, my friend! Keep up the outstanding work, and know that you have a whole community cheering you on!

Great video with some great insights. As with anything though there's more than one way to skin a cat. While I wouldn't argue some of the points to the decade system. I haven't bought the system, so my knowledge is very limited. However, I was privileged to a stat quite awhile ago that I was told Tour pros use more than anything. That stat is the short sided stat. Simply put being short sided resulted in failing to get up and down 90% of the time. Erring on the fat side of the pin resulted in getting up and down 90% of the time. I was told this had more bearing on the shot than any other factor. I also was told that when a player says "the miss" is in "x" location that generally indicates the shape of the shot they intend to hit given their respective position in the fairway. It's all about avoiding trouble and giving yourself the highest probable percentage to make a par. Consider this. Tour pros average roughly 30% birdie conversion rate. If they have 10 chances they will make 3. What has a higher probability of lowering your score knowing that bit of information. Definitely not making more birdies. Eliminating mistakes and having easy pars. Simplest way to lower your score. Luke Kwon has a killer course management course. I would suggest giving that a look. Nothing against Scott but the last thing I want to do is go to the course with all these printouts of mathematical equations to tell me where I should aim and give me insight into what club I should hit. Simple and easy should be the goal.

I've played a lot of golf and can count on maybe 2 hands the number of courses where you really know the yardage of the pin placements from edge to pin. Because of that, doesn't it make sense to simply aim at the middle of the green unless it's a big green, then just aim a bit closer to the pin? Also, wouldn't the slope of the green or fairway be equally important when creating the strategy on where to aim? If I've never played a course, how does this system work? You have a good swing and decent game. I think a 15 to 18 handicap golfer would struggle with this system, which happens to be my game.

Hilarious how Golf instantly punished you for not being humble with the 7 iron draw shot around the trees from the deep rough.. Look at the ball at 9:30 lol that's an epic instant karma. Golf is alive and listens!! Nature does 😂

Anyway thank you very much for sharing this content with us, I also love Scott's work.

I did decade for two years great strategy when trying to raise your golf IQ. Bob Rotella inspired the program. I highly recommend Bobs work to anyone who wants to improve their game. Scott helped me understand scoring in a fun way.

Maybe the full management structure explains this, but I really doubt most golfers have access to pin sheets on a given day. I live in southern CA and not 1 single course I have ever played gives pin sheets, or has them available if you ask. Knowing those numbers, plus dimensions on fairway width, etc are all critical to making the system work. Which makes it seem more like a pro's system or at least one that's not geared to average golfers

Interestingly Tiger Woods said he probably only aimed at maybe one pin in a round. One of the most aggressive playing pros around... shows how much we all have to learn.

Maybe exposing my own ignorance here, but some of this (I’m thinking particularly about the aiming when it comes to approach shots) is stuff I almost do intuitively anyway. I can almost always count on some margin of error with my irons, so I try to hedge against that by not going directly at the flag if it isn’t centered.

I used to track every shot I took when I played. Old now. But my stats led to much of what Decade does. The only thing I would say is my shit dispersion on ALL clubs was more a figure eight than a shot gun, with the left side long and the right side short. This is why Augusta 12 is so hard for right handed golfers. It is much easier for lefties.
The 7 iron was obviously not a 90% shot. Why? The rough was too long. Also your ball wasn't a flyer probably cause it was sitting down in shortish, first-cut rough.
Just a heads up for the practice range: make sure you are getting to your right side in your back swing. Sometimes you got quick and didn't finish to the top. So sometimes downswing was a pull and others a push fade. Only a small amount though. Otherwise a good swing.
Ben Hadden is using Decade now I think. Seems to have helped him.

Great video, what is up with Pete Weber at the end? Felt like a fever dream

I think you may be a lot more successful chipping if you adopt the bump and run shot as opposed to dropping the club at the ball. Bump and run is so underrated and I feel so many people would benefit from this approach to chipping

I guess if you’re higher handicap you could still aim according to this method but get the yardage for the widest part of the green. Along the target line.

Intended to analyse my round today using the 'Tiger 5!' Played so poorly hard to draw many conclusions tho the 4 double bogies did kill my score.

How do you know how many paces the flag is from the edge of the green?
