Important frequency ranges of the kick
Показать описание
The kick has several important frequency ranges to focus on:
Sub-Bass (~60 Hz)*: This gives the kick its thump and low-end power.
Body (120 Hz)*: Here’s where the main weight and body of the kick sit.
Low Mids (120-250 Hz)*: This range can make the kick muddy or cause clashes with the bass, so use it carefully.
Boxiness (300-500 Hz)*: Frequencies here can make the kick sound “cardboard-like,” so reducing them helps clean up the tone.
Attack/Punch (1-5 kHz)*: Boosting in this range can give the kick more punch, helping it cut through the mix.
Air/Highs (5 kHz and above)*: Adds a sense of clarity and “hi-fi” if desired
