In this video, I show you how to recreate and adapt Diego Simeone's 3-5-2 tactic for Atletico Madrid.

We all know the hallmarks of a Simeone team by now; they're extremely good out of possession, particularly in their own half. When they lose the ball, they regain their shape and form a mid-to-low block - becoming extremely difficult for opponents to break down.

It's in possession that has seen such a change compared to the old 4-4-2 system. Atletico have become slightly more possession orientated since the addition of Luis Suarez to the team. They are slightly less reluctant now to simply go direct and try and play the ball in behind - instead looking to play it through the thirds and up the field with more patience if and when possible.

The 3-5-2/5-3-2 allows them to crowd out the central areas of the pitch more to supplement this, but retain their width with the wing backs like Kieran Trippier and Yannick Carrasco.

Hey Broma, have you tried using Charles De Ketelere? He is absolutely amazing as a do-it-all striker. Especially for that F9 type striker. I've used him with the Liverpool tactic. Amazing!
