CAN'T BELIEVE My Friend BOUGHT THIS UNICORN!

Welcome to the simply insane Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster! I can't quite believe that my friend Devin fastrrr has acquired this truly unbelievable icon; only of only 7 in the world. Equipped with new HRE wheels, today it's unloaded in Orange County CA to check it out for the first time!

I've been spoiled to come across a number of the CLK GTRs to date; a mixture of Coupes and Roadsters, and even to be luck to drive one of the former. However, each time you're in the presence of something as spectacular as this, you have to just take it in and appreciate the significance of what it represents. With fewer than 30 cars built in total between the two variants of the Strassenversion, they are literally unicorns, and cars that you see exceptionally rarely.

Having previously checked out the Pagani Zonda Revolucion from Fastrrr's collection, and even joined for a ride at Sonoma Raceway, this time the next unbelievable holy grail hypercar has arrived in the line-up and my goodness is it special. Having previously lived over in the UK, this particular CLK GTR Roadster features the 6.9l NA V12 and no roof to speak of - it's a permanently open topped Roadster.

What makes it unique is that it features a set of HRE Vintage 501 wheels, created specifically with Boden Autohaus for this car. The need to change the wheels came about due to the complete inability to source any new tires for the regular wheels, and with a desire to drive the car, it required a new set to be found that make it safe to enjoy.

Tim, I can tell you that this CLK GTR Roadster looks phenomenal. I never heard of this car until I saw the Sultan of Brunei's car collection. I wouldn't really drive it (mainly because it's super low to the ground), but it really is a marvel of engineering.

I've seen the CLK-GTR roadster in person, and it really is incredible. One of five I believe. Prefer the original hard top though. Those straight cut gears are perfection
