The 919 Street distinguishes itself from the 919 Hybrid in its appearance, but very little in its technical characteristics. It was supposed to receive the same powertrain as the LMP1, combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged V4 engine with an electric motor to deliver 900 hp to all four wheels, along with the same carbon monocoque chassis.

However, this radical approach meant that a team of Porsche technicians would have to accompany each customer for every track session to manage this complex machinery. The startup procedure alone would have taken 45 minutes. It was this constraint that led Porsche to abandon the project at the prototype stage.

This is a production(?) version of the 919 Le Mans Prototype. Why they made a production version of a sports prototype is beyond me.

When you said "incredible headlights", I agree. The headlights are blobby and round, but it kind of makes the Porsche 919 Street a cute car, with the headlights so round and blobby, just like a 2002 Subaru Impreza.
