Big Cube Commutator explained on a 9x9

Big Cube Commutator:
1) Hold the cube so that the two pieces to swap is in the top layer "U" face and in the front "F" layer
2) Place the two center pieces to swap in the same column
3) Move the "column" with the two swapped pieces up once
4) Turn the top layer "U" anti clockwise
5) Move the "column" with the swapped pieces up once. Make sure it is not the same column you moved in step 3
6) Turn the top layer "U" in the opposite direction of step 4
7) Move the column that you moved in step 3 back down
8) Turn the top layer "U" in the opposite direction of step 6
9) Move the column that you moved in step 5 back down

let’s I’ve been struggling with commutators for years now and could never get it even with jperms breakdown but you made it soo simple finally I’m gonna solve my 7x7 with ease lol

Failed cube in a cube on a 9x9 so im tryna use comutators this reslly helps but is it the same concept for edges? Or if the pieces are further away?

Would you still get the same outcome if you started with a U' rather then a F?
