In terms of GPU computing and scientific HPC simulations, Radeon VII kills it. Most applications are bottlenecked solely by memory bandwidth and not FLOPs/s (google "Roofline model") and that 1TB/s is really a lot. And you get 16GB of it. Nvidias best option currently is the Quadro GV100 with 870GB/s but that costs $9000.


Just visit my YouTube channel if you are interested in compute applications for GPUs, I do a lot of GPU computing there, for example computational fluid dynamics or galaxy simulations.
