If there's one thing that I'm hoping we'll get down the road with Sonic games, is the introduction of more playable characters. So far they seem to be limiting themselves to Tails, Amy and Knuckles, but now their starting to branch out to other characters like Shadow. I hope that one day will be able to play as characters like Silver or hell even the Chaotix would be fun to play as, especially if they all have their own unique abilities like what Shadow's getting.

The way that the open zone formula is being used in shadow generations reminds me a bit of Adventure where you had station square and it connected to everything else

i think that maybe because of Sonic X Shadow Generations, along with the success of Sonic Frontiers will maybe finally make Sonic's reputation good again to non-sonic fans and people in general and them not thinking that sonic was always for kids, the stories are too childish, and the sonic was never good at all (sorry for the over-usage of the word "and")

there’s no doubt shadow generations will be amazing. sega genuinely seems as if they start caring more about a game. ofc they are working upon an already existing game, but improving on it and making different with shadows story. sega may be back to its prime

Now that I think about it how often was chaos controll even used. I only know it being a key part for the sonic 06 story and shadow being able to use it. Besides that I can't think of anything else. I really do like how its a game mechanic now. If this game is successful then i hope they do something for silver, give him the spotlight just like how he was introduced in 06.

If they ever remake Sonic Unleashed I REALLY hope they add Knuckles for the Werehog stages! That would be so sick and amazing imo.

5:26 the treasure hunting stages i can understand but i just can't
understand why people don't like the mech stages i always had a blast with those stages

Knuckles would actually be perfect for an unleashed expansion, you could sort of combine the high speed style of the day stages with the combat of the werehog, plus he was the only one of the main 4 to not be in that game.

I love Open Zone, Adventure and Boost and the combination of all those styles
When people say this could be the best sonic game they ain’t kidding
U even have 2D side scrolling with Classic sonic’ levels

The first part of the level was inspired off SA2 with more platforming at the bottom and more running on the top paths.

This was fine but the lack of more complex platforming asides homing attacking enemies and along with no intuitive level mechanics like tilt based rail grinding makes it pail in comparison to SA2.

The second part inside the Ark takes from Generations with it's three alternate paths in an open area like the beginning of stages like Seaside Hill and Chemical Plant.

Thus is the best part of the stage imo and go along side original Generations in terms of quality. It definitely also takes some notes from Sonic DT as others have pointed out.

The final part in the Radical Highway section functionally plays a lot more like Unleashed and Forces with minimal alternative paths and being more spectacle based.

This was the weakest part of the stage and resembled more of Forces than Unleashed. In SU the gameplay was cinematic but highly engaging but here the spectacle takes over leaving gameplay to the sidelines.

I don't think this is a bad stage by any stretch but sadly Forces DNA is still very present even now in modern games. Until it's finally gone do I think we can get something on the level of the Adventure games, Unleashed or Generations.
