I remember my daddy would play this song after a long day from work. He still has the 45.

My mother had that album and wore it out!! Especially on Saturday mornings. She'd play alot of jazz & blues to clean the house. Lol. This song was one of her favorites.

To all those fantastic radio DJ's who used to work graveyard shifts on some dodgy stations back in the day. Were it not for guys and gals like you, guys and gals like me would never have heard great stuff like this !

I love this song reminds of my cousin Carolyn Jean when she came to Chicago from Alabama, for the summer in 76' we had a ball! 😍 She would be dancin' drinkin' gin, & poppin' those fingers of hers, yes, memories, of good times! 😁💯 Jam on! 💓

We’ve been friends for about 5 years. Mr. Handy played with Chuck Mingus on the original Pork Pie Hat. A phenomenal individual…and still alive 89 years young

One of the coolest, nicest, most wise musicians I've had the pleasure of knowing (I took one of his classes at S.F. State- loved it!). Thank you, John Handy!

Saw him several times at the Both And Club on Divisidero St. in SF in the late 60s. I remember Hard Work as being from that period, not from 1976. Great tune! Happy to say that John is still cookin', giving classes on jazz in Healdsburg, North Bay Area.
