Lol the school i went to as a small had contests to see which class met in their muster area fastest. Rules were we had to follow all the safety rules, behave properly and line up neatly outside. Reward was the principal loudly announcing which class was first for bragging rights lol. Kids are easy to please so it worked every time.

When I was in middle school, I had a sassy art teacher that told our class, “If that were real, you all would’ve died in a fire, ” completely deadpan. It was also a really foggy day outside when we made it out of the building, and at one point I remember seeing him just staring at us angrily through the thick ass fog. Scary as hell but funny as hell.

One of the 2 high schools where my cousins went, had a explosion or something in the chemistry lab. The entire school was completely evacuated in less than 90 seconds, the school was completely engulfed in flames a couple minutes later. There were no injuries. That’s why we do fire drills

Buildings have fire drills to make sure the alarms work.

I had a fire drill yesterday, and when I tell you that those fire alarms kill your ears and make you have a panic attack, I mean my soul leave my body.

My oldest would be the one gathering ALL his stuff while plugging his ears middle would be trying to finish his block tower. 1 yr old would be following along.

Actually we even have a plan for the house too and they are pretty good on it

I'm a Toddler Preschool Teacher and any time we have a drill they all immediately run to me sobbing and I have to guide them to the exit door, so I have around 7-9 1 1/2 year olds just following me crying their eyes out. As soon as we get outside some of the calm down but some continue to cry the whole way to our spot. I have to sit them all down and try and calm the overwhelmed and emotional toddlers. I always feel bad because the alarm is so loud and it literally makes some of them scared to leave my side the whole rest of the day.

As someone that works with kids this is so accurate! I had one that I had to give her 2 cookies (1 for each hand of course) so she would be calm enough to leave the building. (I work with kids with Special needs)

My school used to have that sound but let’s say it’s much more scary it sounds like a tornado alarm plus with a voice saying to leave the building

The school I went to as a child didn't have any of this acting out that I remember after I hit grade one. Because in October of Grade 1, the cloakroom beside my classroom caught fire. So none of this sort of stuff was tolerated even a little during fire drills, because everyone knew EXACTLY why we did it.

50 plus years later, fire alarms still set me off. I sincerely hope that Mr. M. and all other teachers impress upon their students that this is REAL, and that learning how to do really hard things like dropping your book and leaving your stuff behind could end up saving your life.

I was in class and my sound was all the way up and everyone heard this and thought it was a real fire drill because of the noise so I had to stop everyone and say it was just my phone GLADY I DIDNT GET IN TROUBLE

At my school there’s a new alarm, and there’s a sensitive kid in my class, so when the fire drill started, he closed his ears and ran out of the classroom. Poor kid, his grandma is the teacher and was able to make sure that he was ok. Still kind of stupid that the alarm is extremely loud.
