Lying to others destroy your credibility. .
But lying to yourself is stupidity without a limit.

IT is funny to see policy makers want greener energy. But Chinese EV are providing cheapest solution yet, they make it expensive for the people. That's like hypocrite at work.

Yes it’s true, EV sales are stagnating. What they don’t tell you is “EV sales for legacy car makers are stagnating” not sales from Tesla or Chinese EV manufacturers

It's called "incentives" here in the US/Europe, and "illegal subsidies" in other countries.

It’s called “high productivity” here, and “overcapacity” there.

This is all called “rules-based order” here, and “breaking rules” there.

The new narrator sounds like they're presenting a movie trailer. Everything Is So Big And Important! Please don't Americanize DW on YouTube. DW is unique in what it offers. Hold on to that.

DW seemingly wants to protect uncompetitive German industry. So many critical facts conveniently ignored in this piece. One being that China, the largest auto market in the world already passed 50% plug-in market share this year.

several reasons but most notable are 3: failing to learn from history and repeating Kodak, Nokia, etc., big oil propaganda and third lacking innovation and productivity in comparison to China.

Europeans can’t compete rising China so move goal post and put tariffs on Chinese cars. Well done. We gave subsidies and state discounts on electric cars, charge points no problem but blaming china for same and saying not fair.
I have driven several nice prestigious German cars for years. I have also driven new Chinese electric cars. I loved
them they are excellent in value and quality.
It is shame we are going back closing our door. We as consumers will be paying very high price for our incompetence.

Gouvernment paying 10000EUR for rich customers to buy 100k eur car from our money. Meanwhile gouvernment can't pay me 1000EUR to buy an Ebike. Cannot afford a car. They just care for the environment 😂 What a joke!

Nope. Its just that legacy Europeans and American automobile makers can't compete with Chinese EV makers.😂

The answer to Why Automakers Are Betting Big on Gasoline Again is simple, for the majority of consumer gas cars have 2 big advantages:
1 Gas cars are cheaper
2 They are more convenient to use for the majority of people

Why don’t we shift to affordable hybrids and affordable EV for the lower “ working class first…”- which is the bulk of the population…

Then build big, expensive EV for the fewer wealthy people….

What is the point of having $50K EVs when there are $30K Corolla hybrids?

Lower class workers just can’t afford EVs in USA when there are cheaper alternatives…

gasoline engine are ranged over miles. Durable ICE last for decades if used less often with lower rpm..

EV battery will degrades over time regardless of usage. That includes hybrid car battery. There is no value for an EV car after 10 years unless they made a replaceable battery. 2027 EU regulated use of user replaceable battery for phones. EV battery is built on chassis. EV is complementary to ICE and will never replace diesel or gasoline ICE. It is something that you use and dispose, not collect for occasional drive.

WHY?
- Because they can't compete. Simple as that.

Betting on ICE cars again? Is DW serious ? Why going through all the trouble slapping high tariffs on EVs?

Almost like if the legacy car makers started worrying about this 15 years ago instead of spending all their money on super bowl ad wars...
