Those LED strips are very good - we use them on our club layout. They are available in cool white and sunlight color temperatures, too.

Great video Steve on these LED lights. That'd definitely be good for working on the layout especially with a switching layout. I wouldn't be able to use them having a 4x10 with a 2x8 off one end.

Nicely done...and timely for me. I'm looking for a lighting solution to light up a cabinet where I wish to display some models I've build. Those strips look like the perfect solution.

Only one comment Steve.
LED tape should always be used with a heatsink. Which can be as simple as an aluminium strip as wide as the tape and 2 or 3 mm thick. LEDs do generate heat and if that is not dissipated then their life will be shortened.
All manufactures mention this but outlets like Amazon do not pass that information along.
With that in mind LED tape is a great way to light a layout.
