Idk who at Disney decided James Woods should play hades but honestly it was the best choice! I don’t think anyone could be as great as he was!

Fun fact: James didn't think he was going to land this role, given how Hades' character was originally written. So, he read Hades' lines in the style of a shrewd, fast-talking car salesman. The producers loved it so much that not only did James land the part, but they rewrote Hades' entire character and script lines around James' portrayal. And the rest...is Disney history😊

This has got to be the best representation of someone being absolutely and utterly pissed that I have ever seen in media. The visible stress Hades has on his face, the way he expresses his frustration about the possibility of everything he’s worked for in the last 18 years potentially about to be flushed down the toilet, and the sheer disbelief he has that his minions would have the audacity to ware Hercules’ merchandise right in front of him during this time. Everything about it is just so perfect and I love it! Makes me miss Disney’s original animated films so much more.
