Polo 6R - How to clean the AC evaporator/cooling coil

preview_player
Показать описание
Here’s a detailed video showing how to easily clean your car’s AC evaporator or cooling coil. The cooling coil aids in chilling the cabin when you turn on the AC and must be kept clean from time to time. A clogged cooling coil will result in reduced cooling performance and formation of frost.

The DIY is easy, can be done at home without any complicated tools and can be wrapped up in an hour. If your car’s cooling performance has come down over time, a choked cooling coil can be one of the reasons. Check it out and do let me know if you have any comments.

Your Polo was a bible for DIY installation. The amount of effort you put in penning down the steps was immense. Sad to hear that you had to part from it. Waiting for videos on the new car.😄

As soon as I saw the video I was very happy to see you still have the polo... I went through your ownership thread right away just to see if you have updated any in your ownership thread. Really really sad to see you parted ways with your polo.

When I bought my polo tsi I used to drool at all the things you did to your car. Back then I was in 2nd year college. No money yknw. So these days I buy something every now and then for the polo with reference to your thread. Many thanks bro! Hope to see your Jazz soon :-)

Gannu Sir -- liked your attention to detail to put masking tape so save it from foam and or anything else.

Another wonderful video :) Can you also make a video on cleaning the condenser and provide some tips to maintain the AC in good condition?
My compressor suddenly stopped working and the service center guys said the wiring is all good its the compressor that's gone. That has to be replaced with filter dryer element of the condenser and the total damage to wallet of approx 30k . An independent AC specialist said its mostly the control valve in the compressor that goes out so it could be fine by just changing that. Going to try that soon. But will I have to replace the condenser filter dryer element too or can that be skipped. Your advise would be helpful.

This is a great guide, Gannu. Thanks. I'll do this soon on my vento tdi as well. Couple of questions- Did you notice any sticky residue left back in the AC after this treatment?
How did your AC improve after this was done?

Be careful if you have a Honda or Acura, some of them have the ECU located right under the HVAC ducts in the back of the center console. When that foam turned into liquid, the liquid leaked down and onto my ECU. The liquid went inside the ECU box and onto the motherboard and rendered my car inoperable. I had to pull out my ECU, dry it out, and carefully clean off the corrosion that was forming. Its working good now, but I still have to seal the ECU board to prevent moisture from corroding the board.

Ganesh bhai! Awesome man!

This is the one I have been seeking for when I had the thought of how to increase the cooling on my car. Will work on asap. ❤

But, did you videotape this earlier?😊

nice. very helpful. thankyou. 1 Question. Would it be better to put the filter cover back on without the filter when spraying the foam in?

You need to use the drain hole and spray the foam up though it in order to actually clean the system.

A question Sir: when you insert the hose from the filter hole, does it go to the right or left side of the car to reach the evaporator?

Sad to read about how you had to let it go. Even I had to part ways with my 8 year old 1.5 TDI at the end of last year 😢
