I was just there 2 weeks ago. I didn't know about the permit required go passed Big Springs, but we went to the campsite before we felt like it was time to turn around. About an 11-mile round trip.

Why are canyon shoes needed? Couldn't hiking shoes with Goretex work with neoprene socks?
