President Biden on Thursday afternoon is slated to hold a press conference at the NATO summit in Washington, D.C.

The high-stakes moment in his reelection campaign will put him under heavy scrutiny, where he will face the media in a rare solo press conference where he is sure to be met with a barrage of questions over whether he can stay in the race.

The press conference will close out the NATO summit in Washington, where Biden has hosted world leaders this week. But the panic around his 2024 bid since the June 27 debate with former President Trump has hardly subsided, with reporters peppering the White House with questions about his mental acuity, fitness for office and what sort of medical treatment he has received.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT.

Honest opinion from a Trump supporter: It wasn't bad. He exceeded expectations, but expectations were abysmal. A few verbal stumbles, a couple of muddled thoughts, but for the most part he sounded reasonably intelligent. (He didn't sound brilliant, but then over his entire career brilliance hasn't been his thing.) Rating as the executive of a superpower: 2/10. Rating based on Joe Biden level expectations: 7/10.

The things everyone will be asking: 1) What was he doing during the lengthy delay before taking the stage? 2) Why did he only take questions from a preset list of reporters? Did he merely recite responses to questions that were agreed upon in advance?
