Aldo Montenegro is a Californian from South Los Angeles. His 1974 Datsun 260Z was originally white with a blue hood. He worked on it; he's owned it for six years. The first year he worked on it back-to-back almost every weekend. The 260Z sat for about four years, and during that time he saved some money and parts, and got it running. It took him four months to make sure everything mechanical was sound.

The Datsun 260z was then completely disassembled, and Aldo worked on the body. It was finished approximately two days before our Tuning 365 show at Formula DRIFT in Long Beach.

Aldo's 260Z sits on Volk T37 VSLs with a 16x8 0 offset all around, wrapped in Falken RT 660 tires. Full Techno Toy Tuning can be found in the front, while the rear setup is simply lower springs and Koni Yellow shocks.

The motor has been completely rebuilt and is now back to its original specifications. Three Weber 40DCOEs were installed, and it idles and runs perfectly. It is simply adjusted.

When Aldo drove into the event he was quite anxious. It was the first drive since coming out of Eric's Racing. The motor is his favourite component. It's simply stunning. Perhaps eventually he'll upgrade the carbs and other components, and port the head.

Our interview with Aldo Montenegro, owner of this 1974 Datsun 260Z and a registered competitor at our Tuning 365 Show at Formula DRIFT Long Beach 2022.
