Do you know someone who can’t get to Sunday Mass today? We are called to share God’s Word, so if you know someone who might enjoy this broadcast or is unable to attend Mass, we consider it a blessing to welcome them to our liturgy.
Since 1952, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has produced a weekly televised Mass for those who are homebound. Our 30 minute Catholic Mass today is broadcast from the Basilica’s Crypt Church and is celebrated by priests from the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington, featuring sacred liturgical music with a Cantor & Organist from the Choir of The Basilica. The Christmas Mass and the Easter Mass are special one-hour broadcasts celebrated annually by the bishops of the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington.
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C., is a Catholic church, a National Shrine dedicated to the Blessed Mother, patroness of our nation. It is a place of prayer, worship, pilgrimage, evangelization, and reconciliation. The Basilica invites people from across the country and beyond to share in Eucharist’s ever-living presence.
