At least 21 killed after 6.8-magnitude earthquake rattles China's Sichuan province

At least 21 people are dead, after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck a mountainous area in China's Sichuan province. It's the strongest quake to hit the region since 2017. More than 500 rescue workers have been deployed to Luding County -- 200km southwest of the provincial capital Chengdu -- near the epicentre. Minutes after the first quake, a second one with a magnitude of 4.2 hit the city of Ya'an near Luding. Affected residents have taken to social media to criticise the strict COVID-19 restrictions that left many with their fire escapes blocked.

Was ok. Not so heavy. I live in 19 floor the building dance a bit. But was not that much. Maybe some poor house constructed and rocks fall from mountings this are normal things. A lot of rescue power move to the site in very high speed ....a lot of support from government going to the area now. They move well on true efforts ...the Chinese have well prepare people for this kind of situations. Last big earth quake was also during a Covid. And they did it well

Earthquake isnt an excuse for lockdown, earthquakes are temporary but viruses are on going, people still need to do their part to follow the instructions for lockdown to prevent virus spreading .
